Hallelujah! I never thought I'd find an answer for my speakers just suddenly stopping,
but pursuing this thread (based on my 'C-Media AC97 Audio Device' just quitting)
led me to this solution, which worked! Thanks, Google, and thanks everyone who blazed
this trail for me (especially, Keith Mathews)!
