Restoring XP to factory state

I want to restrore XP-PRO, SP2 (on T61) to the factory-ship state using the recovery
media (created when the laptop was new). But I remember reading somewhere (i think
it was this forum but can't find the post) that----- RnR 4.00 for T61, XP-PRO has
a bug and the recovery media created with this version will not restore the system
unless you get some missing XP-os file and load it through a floppy(?)
can anyone confirm and explain the solution or tell me there is no issues with RnR4.00?
