You asked this in the XP forum, but I don't see any relevance between the start of the message you wrote, which would seem to indicate you should be asking your question in the Windows98 forum here, and the end of the query, mentioning XP, which simply doesn't make good sense, sorry.

However, all Windows end-user licenses have those 25- digit Key Codes on the original packaging, and you are instructed to save the numbers in a safe place.
