Flashing the BIOS was a pointless risk. There's no reason to do all of the steps 
you did to install. Upgrading over ME is a serious problem. Start over and do a clean 
install. There is no need to upgrade from ME, and the installation process allows 
the option of repartitioning and formatting the drive.
