If you thoughtfully partition your drive so that all data is stored on a separate 
partition, you can use any drive imaging software such as Acronis to essentially 
do a complete re-install in about five minutes. The problems you are experiencing 
are most likely due to the computing habits of your family, most likely the kids 
are visiting sites that offer lots of intriguing downloads that are malware in disguise. 
I almost never have any issues that require a re-installation, but when I do, it's 
a very quick recovery.
