Network Connections lost

In an effort to make my laptop run faster, i uninstalled programs that i rarely use. i tweaked startup options in msconfig, and switched from normal to diagnostic then selective. but when i opened my network connections, it's empty including my wireless. i am already running normal startup. and i can't restore cause my laptop doesnt have earlier restore points. :( darn. what did i do wrong? how do i fix this?
