The card reader is much easier to use than the camera manufacturer's bloatware. My
friend just bought a new Canon camera, it's software refuses to recognize the presence
of the camera while PaintShop Pro readily does. This is obviously not an XP problem.
I doubt that yours is either; it's more likely poorly written camera software. I've
worked with 4 different cameras now and in every case it was easier and faster to
use a card reader. Add that to the fact that no additional software is required makes
it an easy choice.
