Yes, in fact a balloon pops up that reads "Found new hardware...PENTAX Optio 330"

No, where I would expect it to copy something, the wizard just ends with "Cannot
Install this Hardware" etc.

I get another pop-up balloon that says "hardware installed, there was a problem installing
your hardware, it may not work properly", or something like that.
