I didn't have this option until I replaced my power supply of 7 yrs. I was having just the opposite problem until I did. Once replaced, I went through almost every scenario, trying to get my old Gateway to turn-off & not keep restarting. Sure enough, I went through and unplugged one item at a time.....it was my 56K PCI modem. Since I have DSL now & use my ethernet port, I just tossed it. Last resort would be messing w/ your BIOS.
