If you have downloaded a pdf file then you can open it in Adobe Reader using the
normal File>Open command If you want the pdf file to open automatically in the
browser then make sure that the Adobe Reader add-on is enabled (go to IE> Tools>Internet
Options>Programs> Manage add-ons). If the add-on is absent or enabled and not working
(?) then may be best to download/install Adobe Reader again and ensure that you set
it up as the default pdf reader
