Sorry if this topic has been posted before; search appears to be down. I am getting periodic messages of the format "The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk4\D" and I'm trying to sort out which drive is "Harddisk4." I typically get two messages in the same second, one from "Harddisk4" and the other from "Harddisk3." How can I discern which physical disk is having the problem, from this "Harddisk4" type of designation? I have checked all my cables, done chkdsk /r and low-level integrity tests of my disks, etc., and everything has come up clean, but if I'm losing data somewhere I'd really like to know where. Thanks, David
