It didn't do this on the two computers I installed it on. They are working okay, no problems except IsoRecorder doesn't work any more, but it was SP2 specific anyway. There are lots of reports of problems with SP3 on some AMD processors though and they are very bad, leaving the system unbootable and unrecoverable. You need to reinstall (or restore you image backup if you're smart) to recover. My advise, wait a while, see what else shakes out.
