Thx for your message but I know for sure that this happened right after I ran that
program and restarted my computer.
In order to "recover" the CD / DVD drives, I had to delete them INDIVIDUALLY from
the Device Manager list and, after clicking Add Hardware, windows reinstalled them
properly. They now show ok.
One of the yellow-shaded item was something to do with "Plug-and-Play". I deleted
it, hoping windows would do the same trick as with the drives but it simply disappeared
from the Device Manager all together.
This may or may not be related but I do not hear any sound from the loudspeakers
anymore. When I go to Sounds and Audio Device, the Volume tab shows "No Audio Device".
I wonder if someone could assist.
Thanks in advance.
Kleber
