You need a SATA Control Card that goes into a PCI Slot. Most new SATA drives are
the newer SATA II type drive, so I would probably get a matching Control Card. They
run about 60 bucks on up to Hundreds depending. I use some of the low end ones, and
have had good luck, but have to say for what you use your Computer for, it would
be probably better to just keep what you got. I don't think the Bucks spent will
return any noticeable improvements.
