I don't know how this relates to Windows XP but in any event what you're going to
need is an adapter card and an available PCI slot. This page shows a wide variety of adapters but some caution here. Look
carefully at the kind of slot it fits into. Your computer is based on the P4 478
pin configuration and as such I am doubtful that it has other than standard PCI slots
and perhaps an AGP slot. Some of these cards use the PCI-e slots which really didn't
get slapped onto boards until after later variations of the P4 775 pin processor
or the AM2 939 pin came along although I could be wrong. An inspection of your mobo
and the available slots it has will tell you what kind of card you need. A visit
to your local pc shop or Fry's Electronics if there is such a place near you would
be in order if you want to buy locally and don't want to wait on shipping. Once
in you should have no trouble connecting a SATA drive to it.
