After checking with what you (the person who replied) had wrote I found something kind of odd (maybe). My drives are both Maxtor 200 gig partitioned to two (2) 100 gig partitions. This is where I found something strange. On the setting you told me to check I found all four partitions set to UltraDMA....but here is what is strange. On the first channel they are both set as I read this "UltraDMA Mode 6" and the second channel on partition is set to "UltraDMA Mode 4" and the second partition on that channel is set to "UltraDMA Mode 3" is this correct? I am kind of new to building my first computer but it would seem to me that all these should have different "Mode" call outs or wouldn't the IRQ get confused? Thanks for your replies!
