So basically I am on the right path with adding more memory, huh? I built this machine
to do just that...Edit Video. I have yet to switch the drives around to the configuration
you had mentioned before, but the Windows Memory Diagnostic found nothing! I had
a feeling I was kind of bottoming out the memory because the use of the Firewire
card can handle such a greater volume then USB 2. I did want to point out that last
night I just played around online a little and started downloading a huge amount
of stuff just to see where it would crash. I downloaded 911 Mb of information then
it locked up again. I made sure I hit the system hard with the downloads by downloading
a bunch of stuff all at once and a bunch of files that are 30 - 60 Mb in size, as
I had thought it only took about an hour and bang it froze. Too further my test I
took the files, all 911 Mb and placed them into one file folder then moved it around
the system, which by the way doesn't ever seem to lock it up. As normal it didn't
I then moved a bunch of other stuff around trying to push it and mutitasking the
poop out of it and nothing happened. So I am very coovienced that the memory or lack
of it, may just be the problem. Thanks for the information I will try the pagefile
to see what that gets me and if it works then I will know to load up on memory because
I am not really interested in losing room for Virtual Memory. What would you suggest
I set the volume size too btw? Thanks again for your help.
