Verizon email as my default email client

How do I change my default email client to Verizon email? I've tried the tools, internet
options, programs. The only options shown are Outlook Express, Hotmail, and Incredimail.
I do not wish to use any of these for my email. How do I change to Verizon email
so I can use the check mail from the toolbar? I'm using IE6 and Win XP.
