Upgrade versions are cheaper. Installing it requires proof that you have an earlier
version of Windows. I guess the upgrade version is like the OEM version in that
you can only run it on one computer. If you get a new computer, you need to purchase
another license. But that's only a guess. The one for $270 is probably the full
retail version that you can switch to a newer computer in the future.
Service packs are free. The latest is SP3 which is what I'm running. Indeed I did
slipstream mine. Autostreamer makes it fairly easy.
