That's not the registry fixing itself. It is simply copying an older version of
the registry over the latest version of the registry; it's going to a backup, in
essence. So, for example, if there are programs you installed subsequent to the
backup being made, the resulting registry won't know anything about those programs;
you'll have to reinstall them. I wouldn't really call that "fixing itself," in the
sense, for example, of selectively going in and editing itself.
