It was working one moment and as I was scrolling through a folder the mouse started behaving this way. Before this I have been using the mouse for more than a year without problems. I have a Sony VAIO lappy with a Logitech mouse. I have the same model mouse at work so I'll try it out tomorrow to see if I can rule out hardware problems with the mouse itself.
