Additional. More searches relating to this driver mchInjDrv.sys seem to indicate
that several anti-malware/firewall products may use it. It cannot be seen on disk
even with Show Hidden/Show SuperHidden enabled, or it may even be generated dynamically
in some cases. The filename stands for Mad Code Hook Injection Driver and it is used
to assist in detecting rootkits, but has been known to be exploited in other ways.
I can not find any reference to it causing the symptoms you describe, but that would
rather depend on the behaviour of whatever code was being injected by the driver!
Difficult to come to any hard and fast conclusions here without a lot of further
investigation. Cheers. Spexx.
