I agree it is frustrating. The bugcheck 8e and exception code c0000005 associated
with win32k.sys is fairly common and can be caused by bad memory, bad drivers, or
incompatible code. I have even seen some web pages cause this crash with iexplore.exe.
Best tip is to look in the BIOS settings and disable BIOS and video caches in memory
(which is something I do to all machines routinely). Other than that, there isn't
