I have a comment about Force Explorer to Start With the Folder You Want:

There is a flexible/useful complement or alternative. Right-drag your desired folder icon to Start > Programs > Startup (or to C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\ ), and choose Create Shortcut.

When you boot, that folder, and any other items you insert links to, will open.

I use this for a daily text log (Daily.LOG) and a daily links folder (\Daily links\), which I use to keep handy searchable reference notes & links to the wide variety of projects I work on. 'What was I doing last Tuesday?' 'What did I name that file?' ... All accumulates in those 2 handy desktop windows.

See Start > Help > Startup > "Start a program each..." for 'less' about this useful mechanism.
