I have fixed my problem, it was two things..first the previous owner had deleted
some of his personal files and deleted some files in the system folder..i told him
next time just format the drive and re-install the OS.
Anywho the seconed thing that didn't let the desktop load up all the way was hardware
that was installed..once i removed it the computer loaded all the way up i even
got the splash screen back.
hardware was a graphics card.
I installed the XP cd over the previous installation just to replace the files that
were deleted and wha-la all done =] .
