You are right, of course. If you look carefully (always), the links in the above
message are not functional, but are illustrative and close to typical. (The ALL
CAPS folder name in each path string will have an appropriate user name on your machine.)
I could have been more explicit, in that the user would create the indicated folder
and it's sister text file, and start the text file with the capitalized string, ".LOG"...
so Notepad will generate an automatic date-time stamp (or use the F5 key).
Then right drag links(shortcuts) for both of them to the \Startup\ folder.
With the preparation complete, your first use would be to note in your Daily.log
what you have just done, and drag a shortcut for Daily.log (a file you just worked
with) into the \Daily links\ folder.
It does not matter that the log file is still open, and when you shut down, your
XP will prompt you to save your log changes.
Upon your next restart, they would both open to your desktop, reminding you what
was, and be ready for your new day of use.
