This is not an unknown shortcut - its so obvious everyone forgets it is there!
If you have NUMLOCK on SHIFT 0 (numeric pad) is Insert. If NUMLOCK is off then it
is an insert key. I don't know how to disable it.
When in word you can switch between INS and OVR by hitting the tag at the bottom
of the window. This still works when all other steps have been taken, but is fairly
fumble proof, and shows you how it's set.
