i work as a guard at a desk with 4 computer monitors and i believe 3 different cpu's
unless there is a hidden one somewhere
i will say to start out, that i am not supposed to be using the computers to surf
online so i can't really say anything to this new boss about the situation or i would
be admitting that i was doing something i am not supposed to do;
the boss thinks he is a know-it-all
for months i have been getting on the web and reading newspapers
this new supervisor/busybody started last week, and this person is a self proclaimed
computer expert and apparently this person is trying to block my efforts at using
the computer get online (a third party probably walked thru while i was reading and
might have mentioned to him that he saw me reading online)
there is a little controller console that sits out front and there is a button with
4 positions (1, 2, 3, 4); when you push a button the light in front of the appropriate
number lights up; that tells you which screen is active for the keyboard and mouse
when i go to the screen i have been using (3), the mouse does not work, the keyboard
works because i am able to use keyboard commands (this boss probably assumes i don't
know how to use keyboard commands)
when i go to other screens the mouse and keyboard both work (the boss again thinks
i am too stupid to get to these other screens)
back on screen 3
i used the keyboard commands to get to the control panel>mouse; and checked all 5
tabs and there was nothing that said disable mouse, or enable mouse
i searched google and the only things i was able to find under "disable mouse" had
to do with the mouse accellerator
i referred to my "windows xp for idiots" book and was not able to get any help
this boss is not stopping me from reading online, but i am curious as to why the
mouse is disabled on this one screen, and how this boss/busybody did it
thanks in advance to anyone who has any ideas on how to restore the mouse
