I don't have any idea. I've never seen a problem like it. I would tend to question
your RAM, and think maybe it could be malware. I'd use memtest to test the RAM. Scan
for malware with a battery of tools, but yet still may be surprised if that really
led to an obvious cause.
If it were me, I'd simply restore my known good Acronis Drive image and just make
it disappear in about five minutes.
