Your system won't be faster by removing them.
The XP file protection system works through redundancy, you have a protected duplicate
of all critical system files in the hidden folder named dllcache; if you manage to
somehow delete a dll, the file protection system, will automatically replace it with
the copy from there. Also many of your seemingly duplicate dll's are simply files
with the same name that are in fact different.
It is possible to remove the XP file protection system and the dllcache folder and
reduce the Windows folder by 0.5Gb in size. I did that several years ago to make
backups quicker. This should not be done by everyone, because it's a good way to
really screw things up. I should also mention that it wasn't a one time experiment,
I still don't have a dllcache folder, and even without all of those redundancies,
I still have over 5000 dll files.
