I have a question about What to do about error messages during Windows startup:

When I start up my computer, it takes a very long time to load windows. The following error message frequently displays and then Windows will not load: "The I/O operation on \Device\Harddisk1\DR2 was not completed before the time-out period expired". Am I dealing with a bad hard drive or Windows issue, or something else? Please help!
