I have the same problem, "power meter" icon not shown on system tray despite check
"always show icon on task bar". I offered an alternate solution that is similar to
advice posted by Sean Burns dated on Feb 6, 2003. The culprit is the "UPnP". So I
uninstall "UPnP User Interface", and the missing "power meter" icon in system tray
problem resolved. To uninstall "UPnP User Interface", goto "Control Panel > Add /
Remove Programme > Add/Remove Windows Components > Networking Services > uncheck
UPnP User Interface"
