If the folder is really gone (As Deb says, make a thorough search !), get TweakUI for XP (free download). Make a new folder (call it what you like) and then you can use TweakUI for XP to "nominate" it as your My Pictures folder, which will result in it being given all the appropriate settings and references.


On the other hand, if you mean that files in it have disappeared, that's a different problem: some ideas: 1. Look in your recycle bin 2. Search for a file whose name you know (having first turned on "View hidden files and folders in Windows explorer) 3. Google for one of the free file recovery programs - if you are going down this route its best to use your PC as little as possible so you don't over-write too many files 4. Reach for your backups
