Sunday, December 21, 2008 at 8:09 pm Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by christine cornwall (1 messages posted) i purchased an hp that was preloaded with windows xp, i had to reinstall windows to my hard drive i.e. restore windows. i was asked to activiate windows. when i tried it does not accept the product key that i was given by HP. i contacted microsoft who told me to call hp. hp told me they would not be able to help unless i paid $49.95. what a rip. did anyone ever have this problem? help me!
