You can't just use "any" old XP CD. It has to match the version the product key was designed for. Bootlegged copies of Windows XP Pro volume license edition download from limewire isn't going to work with a genuine product key attached to the outside of your computer. You need either an XP Home OEM, or an XP Pro OEM disc depending on which version your HP came with.
