no access to register key while installing mediaplayer 11 Friday, December 26, 2008 at 10:15 am Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Musiclover (118 messages posted) Hi, I have a Dell Inspirion 6000 laptop and try to install Windows mediaplayer 11 over wmp 9. At about 87% installation stops. In Windows\updspapi.log it says: access error at HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Mediaplayer\settings\MP3Encoding\Lowrate. In regedit i even got no rights to acces the folder settings. Tried everything i found with Google to give myself rights there but nothing works. (tried to let underlying folders inherit permissions from 'higher' folders, but even there i ain't got rights) Anybody 's got any suggestions?
