When you select the key that you can not access, click "edit" -> "permissions."
In there you can click "Advanced." Click the "Owner" tab, select "Administrators"
for the owner and check "Replace owners on all subcontainers." Click APPLY. Ignore
any warning.
Now, click "OK." and close all windows except regedit. Now, click "Edit" -> "Permissions,"
again for the same key. Now, under the first screen that opens, make sure "administrators"
is listed, and it is set at "Full control." If it isn't listed, ADD it, and give
it full control. Click OK, and you now have permissions.
I shouldn't need to mention that you DO have to be logged in with an administrator
account. That should be obvious if you are trying to install something. :)
