I'm having a related problem with XP and IE 7: the later is functioning quite satisfactorily
except with .htm files on my own PC, which it ignores and will not display. (The
files display and function satisfactorily within Frontpage or Dreamweaver).
I have not tried the regedit option as this is outside my area of experience and
expertise, but I have tried the other method outlined, as well as changing file associations
through control panel. All to no avail. Another curious symptom is that if I right
click on an .htm file the 'open with' option does not appear. Any suggestions would
be welcome.
