Intel has put quite alot of research into the CPU COOLER FAN, HEAT SINK and the THERMAL COMPOUND on the bottom of that heat sink. The only reason to second guess the manfacturer whould be if you intended to overclock the CPU. And, further more if you see a need for more compound, you need to remove the original 3 strips because your compound will probably NOT be compatible with the OEM compound. If you do add your own compound, send us a picture of the Cream Puff you create.
