This is not an XP question, and it somewhat depends on the routers that she will
need to hook up to. Higher versions are backwards compatible with lower versions.
The wired adapter is irrelevant. Don't get the "a" version. "g" is only useful if
she will have access to "g" services which are becoming rather common place. Keep
in mind that I'm not an expert on this subject. You should search google for more
thorough answers.
