My daughter's computer had a worm that I got rid of but still had no desktop or start menu. I tried your suggestion and when I got to the end of the explorer.exe file I saw the file that had been infected so I nervously deleted the explorer exe. and rebooted to my surprise everything came back to normal. I've been working on this all day!!! Thank You So Much!!!!
