I believe you need to create another account before you can delete the current one. Makes sense if you think about it since you can't logon to Administrator when you do a normal boot, only in Safe Mode.

If you want to keep the same account name, create another throw away account while in Safe Mode. Do a normal boot and login as the account. Reboot to Safe Mode, login as Administrator and delete the old account, then recreate it.

Normal boot and login as the new account. Restore your data, then delete the throw away account.
