Shut Down/Start Up Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 10:59 pm Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by JACK (1 messages posted) After a successful download of an anti-virus program, I shut down normally. Later, at start-up, I turned the computer on, clicked on my user avatar, heard the microsoft start-up sound, briefly saw my desktop displayed,(without icons), heard the sound for shut down, & was taken back to the user screen. It has happened everytime I tried to go on. Has anybody ever heard of this? Or experienced this? Please help. Thank you.
