I will disable the network card, and if I obtain positive results I will post back.
Unfortunately, my ERUNT backups are programmed to be retained for 7 days only. So
those available all belong to the period well after my problems began. I should have
realized the importance of saving some old ones, but it is too late.
I should have mentioned two other points in my last post.
The first point is that (disk), event 11, errors are not seen *during* a session
of computer use (browsing, or composing text etc.), even if the session lasts an
hour. They are always seen during the first couple of minutes of logging on to a
profile at startup; and when user profiles are switched.
The second point is that sometimes, if there is a long string of event 11 errors,
an (atapi), event 5, error also appears. I am sorry I did not mention this earlier.
Thank you for your continuing help.
