Just noticed you said you ran Norton and Spyware Doctor. For one thing, whenever
there's an infection you shouldn't rely soley on your onboard AV program. They often
get hosed from infections.
Panda Active Scan
Spyware Doctor is fine for an extra, but it's not one of the best. Currently MalwareBytes'
and SUPERAntispyware are tops. Download, install and update MalwareBytes' anti-malware...
run a scan. This will also be included in the preliminary cleaning steps on those
forums.
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
P.S. Disable System Restore to clear out all previous restore points, since they're
likely corrupt and contain infected files. Reboot, then create a new restore point,
so you have something to fall back on.
While you're at it, set a limit on the amount of disk space it uses, e.g. between
1-3% of you disk size.
