Thanks a lot Pavel. Your tip gave me an excellent help.I am also in habit of running softwares like windows washer which are considered very good ones for removing junk files from windows. But for last some days, when i tried opening any MS Office application like word, Power point, excel etx, it gave a message of G(Which is my setup locatio drive):\.... \ .....\ Data.bak not found. I just went to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Data.dat , copied this dat file to the location where the installtion prompted me, changes its name to Data.bak and restarted the applications. It really worked. Many softwares like webroot windows washer consider all .bak files as junk and delete them. So be very cautious and note that this happens mostly when you enable the "Show hidden files & folders" option from control panel. After the hidden microsoft files ( eg are ntldr , ,bak etc )which are normally hidden and dont allow detection by third party softwares, now become visible and can be accidently deleted. So please disable the hidden files option always and enable only when you very critically need it. Thanks
