my current xp+sp2 installation hasn't given me much to complain about (although it
remains windows).
By the end of the year I plan to upgrade my pc and will have a double core processor
(probably Intel).
Since I read mixed comments about sp3 I am not anxious to install it. My current
installation is slimmed, and although dated, never had any malware to worry about
or other problems.
The upgrade(s) I will probably be most interested in is the one for better support
for multiprocessors, since I believe that was better supported in sp3. On the helpwithwindows.com
site the (complete?) patches included in sp3 were listed, but I don't see anything
related to an OS optimisation for multiple cores. Can someone give me any advice
which patch(es) to use for this, or at least are a valuable update to the performance
in general?
