If I right-click an application program icon on my windows desktop, select "run as", select "administrator" and enter my administrator password, I get "logon failure: unknown user name or bad password." The only "user" of windows is myself as an administrator. The OS is Windows XP Professional (32-bit) version 5.1.2600. Is this a "normal problem" for Windows XP or is something amiss in the user account setup area (or elsewhere?) I originally set up the admin account with no password. That worked fine until I now have an application that must "run as administrator," so I set up my account with a real password. Now when I start up windows I must enter that password; but the AP right-click and "run as" feature still refuses to accept what I enter. I would think that when I log on as an adminstrator that the right-click "run as" feature would be redundant and grayed out as a selection. I later set up a limited user account, logged onto Windows as that account and tried the same right-click, "run as," select Admin, enter Admin's password and got the same result. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Bill T.
