I started with this a couple of weeks ago when I wanted to play an audio CD and discovered that rather then just autoplaying, which it previously had done sometime in the past, a folder window opened with the CD's file contents (.cda files in this case). I checked the autoplay choices in the drive's properties and set it to play with media player. On inseting the CD, it still just opens the folder window. Having then searched various places and tried the autoplay fix wizard, to no avail, I have tired some of the regiatry fixes on here, but not all as yet. So far I havent fixed the problem. It seems no matter what I tweak, it still just opens the folder. Its as if its detecting the CD insertion, but then not knowing what to do so just opens the folder of drive contents. Its applying to DVD's too.. If I use TweakUI to turn off autoplay, it does turn off and then nothing happens at all. Running XP home with Sonic burning software which came pre installed. Autoplay definatlely worked when the PC was new (4 years ago). Any more thoughts. ?
