I have more info about Remove the Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant (ClickOnce) Firefox Extension:

I read and followed the directions of this article and successfully removed the assistant. However, the next day I found the assistant had returned mysteriously. Luckily I had bookmarked the site, and came back to remove the piece of junk yet again. Before going to bed tonight though, I saw the automatic updates icon in the corner of my computer, and checked it out. This is where I learned that this update is in the "important updates" section from microsoft. I have those set to automatically install around 3am so I don't have to go do it manually once a week. So, after removing it and everything, go to the microsoft update website, and make it check for updates, and when it finds the update, un-check it, and tell it to never show that update again. Then you should be rid of it for good.
